This engraved tennis award julep cup is from 1969. The cup has a great sheen and feels hefty in the hand. It says ‘FALL TENNIS’ and we love the raised, glossy crest from the city of southern Germany called Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
We stumbled upon this gem while on Spring Break in Sun Valley, Idaho at a vintage shop. After doing some research we always find out interesting nuggets about interesting places we never knew existed.
It is in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps near Oberammergau. There are many tennis camps in Germany and we believe this tennis school might be where it came from. http://www.euling.de/index.php/tennisschule-tenniscamp
We would love to play tennis here one day!
