This sport time relic represents the lawn games of the past. Maybe you played in your back yard with family or perhaps you dress in whites to play on your club team; whatever the reason, this vintage piece will bring back a vivid memory to be sure.
The history of croquet is long and distinguished. The game of hitting balls through hoops can be traced back to 14th century France. Peasants used hoops made with willow branches and shepherds crooks to hit balls. It showed up again in 17th century Ireland where a British toy maker saw it being played. He then took the concept back to England, equipment was produced and it quickly became the sport of the elite class.
Material: Natural wood, weathered green stripe; not as heavy as the balls from today and certainly no shine.
